The bulk of Stephen Hillier's work has been on behalf of occupiers from international corporates to private companies. Most recently he spent several years as a Director at Colliers CRE, one of the UK's leading real estate consultancies and part of one of the largest global networks. He has project-managed the expansion of a chain of UK computer retailers, achieving extremely challenging targets in terms of costs and time-scales. He was responsible for every aspect of the process from finding the location to detailing the fitout and telecoms right through to ensuring that the displays were correctly set up and the staff ready for opening day. In addition he also managed all the rents, utilities, maintenance etc of that portfolio of over 70 shops on extremely tight budgets and in an environment where uninterrupted shop performance was essential. More recently he worked for 5 years with the American investment broking giant, Edward Jones, opening their UK network of over 100 branches, again managing all property aspects of the portfolio. He also worked with this client to set up processes and systems to align with their 9,500 branch network in the US and guided them through the considerable cultural differences that frustrated them.
